The Fight #63
Thanks for tapping in to The Life N Times Network !
Last night’s boxing event delivered a remarkable series of performances that shifted the momentum of multiple divisions. David Benavidez retained his position at the top of the light heavyweight class with a commanding stoppage win over Anthony Yarde, while Devin Haney showcased discipline and precision to secure the WBO welterweight title in a hard fought decision. Jesse Rodriguez added even more significance to the night by unifying three world titles with a late knockout that demonstrated both resilience and championship caliber power. Abdullah Mason continued his rapid rise by claiming the WBO lightweight title through a composed and intelligent performance against Sam Noakes. In today’s episode, we break down how each of these victories affects the future landscape of the sport and why this card stood out as one of the most meaningful of the year.
Tap in it's the fight episode 63. Listen, bro. We have some bump of a boxing ding ding. Listen. The fight episode 63. Life and Times Network. Listen. This main event in boxing period has been in such a great spot. We come from the Eubank Junior Connor Ben fight too to this weekend of fights. David Benavidez, Devin Haney, Bam Bam, Adula Mason, Championship level fights. Four of them. It was an incredible night of boxing. Incredible night of fights. The preliminary, you know, the premier prelim fight was amazing too with those middle weights. Shout out to White Magic for getting that W. A dramatic knockout. A dramatic KO. In a back and forth fight. Both fighters got hurt in that fight. So even though he lost, his opponent should take some pride in that, man. It was a great fight. And then we get into the Abdullah Mason. Listen, I've been watching Abdullah since he started. I've been watching him since he was a prospect. I watched him fight four, five, six times a year. This kid had the good since he stepped in, since I seen him. I knew he was going to be a champion. It was amazing to see. Even though he fought a fight at some times, I really didn't like. He does not have to stand there and trade with Sam. I know it's good for the fans. I know you're looking for a knockout, but you did get dropped before. This is boxing. You need to minimize your risks if you're not, if you're not really. Don't go for broke if you don't have to. Like, don't go for broke if you got money in the bank. Don't get a loan if you got cash. Like, don't go ahead and lose what you already have, man. Your boxing ability. He won a tough, rugged war. He fought a fight. He didn't have to fight. It kind of reminds me of an early Floyd where he used to fight those knuckle drag, you know, those drag off fights with Chop Chop Curly and Zab Judah, like, where he went to war and fought a much more aggressive fight and stopped those guys or got the TKO. And it was impressive. And maybe that's what he was trying to do. He's is a young champ, only 21. Shout out to Abdullah Mason, one of the youngest champs in history, and one of the youngest champs currently. That division is stacked. Like flapjacks. Okay. I can't wait to see what these guys do. He can he can he can hang with all of them. He can hang with all of them. All he has to do is get more mature. I don't want him in the ring with Tank yet. Big puncher, a lot of experience. He's going to catch that kid for sure. So anybody but that, he's cool, man. Shout out to Abdullah Mason, young champion, big, big fan. I think he'll be one of the greatest fighters we've ever seen, especially as he gets older and grows into his man strength, his man weight. You don't know what weight class he might end up in towards the end of his career. You know, that's the crazy part of it. But he's not the only young prodigy on the card. Bam bam. Jesse Rodriguez, bro. Punches in bunches. Punches in bunches. Accurate. Hitting you more than your taxes. Like, if you don't have a jab, you can't beat guys like Bam Bam. If you don't have footwork, you can't beat guys. If you don't have good defense, you can't. Like, going in there with heart and determination is not going to win you this fight. He broke him down. He was the matador to the bull. He outworked him, out jabbed him, outpunched him, out-angled him, out thawed him. He had him every which way. And it's Sunday. Bam bam. Put a thump in on that man, put belted ass, and then he, you know, he dropped him. He finished the fight. Three belts. He wouldn't go undisputed. Flyweight champ. Bam bam. Shout out to him, man. Incredible fight. Incredible fight. Then we get to Devin Haney versus Brian Norman. Now, we had so many fucking narratives about Devin Haney. He can't box. He he got a weak chin. He can't punch. He all that shit we was talking about. Listen, man. He dropped the hard puncher. Brian Norman got put down this fight. Second round. Chin check. Stop it. Can't come over here. Put him in a bad neighborhood. Can't come here. It's illegal. I'm robbing you. You come in this neighborhood, I'm robbing you. You came into Devin Haney's neighborhood, got robbed, got shot. Shout out to Teddy Atlas. Make it a bad neighborhood. Devin Haney made it a bad neighborhood all night. Brian Norman had fits. He could not cut off the ring. You can talk a lot of shit. You gotta cut off the ring.
SPEAKER_00:He wasn't running, he was right there. Pop shot. Boom, bang, bang, bang, bang, right here. Right here, right there. You got to do more.
SPEAKER_01:And if you're gonna talk shit, now you gotta deal with everybody else talking shit. So like everything that people criticize Devin Haney for, he disproved. I'm I'm so proud of him. You know, three-weight class champion, uh, you know, a young legend in the sport. He's so young, I don't even think he's 30 yet. So like the amount of scrutiny he's gotten before he's even reached his prime is insane. And this is Devin Haney's I want I don't want to say era, but he's gonna be one of the greatest fighters of his era for sure. Connor Benn doesn't look interested in fighting him because he knows if he jumps in, he's gonna get something he doesn't want. Devin Haney was not born, the fight was not born. Stop it. Now, getting to the main card. David Benavidez versus Anthony Yarte. Listen, it was gonna be a dog fight regardless. I wish Yardi had a better jab. I wish he had a lot more things, but this proves that Anthony Yarty is just not world-class level. He's just underneath it, and he's getting older, so he's sliding out of his prom. David Benavidez punches in bunches. He was everywhere, anywhere, here or there, inside, outside, like wherever he wanted to be, he had it. He he made it a he didn't make it a bad neighborhood. He made it a bad city, he made it a bad country, he made it a bad continent for Anthony Yarde. He couldn't go anywhere. Heat sick and heat-seeking missiles of punches in bunches. Violence. Pure violence. He held him and punched him like 18 times. He didn't give a fuck. Ref's not gonna stop it. I'm not gonna stop it. He holding my arm. I'm just gonna keep hitting him. I don't give a fuck. Canelo don't want to fight. I don't give a fuck. I'm moving up. Better Beav don't want to fight. I don't give a fuck. I'm moving up. Bibble don't want to fight. I don't give a fuck. I'm moving up. David Benavidez does not care. He's chasing greatness. If you want to bullshit, if you want to duck, he's gonna go somewhere else, man. It's a shame he's leaving the weight class. I think he should fight Better Beep. I think he should fight Bibble. I think he should fight Canelo if he gets out of the car Crawford fight with a W. Canelo Crawford 2 is coming. Rematch talks are on the way. So I can't wait to see that. Mayweather Pacquiao 2's coming. Rematch talks are on the way, so I can't wait to see that as well. Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul is happening in December. Boxing's on fire, man. It's on fire. And I didn't even mention the official cars that's coming through. It's so much going on. Tapping into the fight episode 63. The fight life and times. Network.
SPEAKER_00:Tap and then it's later lay.
