Thanks for tapping in to The Life N Times Network !

Las Vegas delivered a razor thin lightweight title fight as Raymond Muratalla edged Andy Cruz by majority decision after 12 tense rounds to claim the IBF belt at Fontainebleau. Cruz’s slick timing and footwork made it a chess match early, but Muratalla’s steady pressure, body work, and late round activity swung enough moments on the cards to get the nod, sparking debate right away. In this episode we break down the swing rounds, the tactics that defined the fight, why the scoring split the room, and what each man should target next after one of the closest title fights of the month.

Tap in the fight, episode 7. Fuck me. Listen, Cruz versus Maratala. There's a lot of bullshit with this whole card as far as the fighters. Let's talk about Khalil Ko and Jesse Hart. People are talking about missing weight, getting in each other's faces, jumping at each other, throwing each other in the ring. People losing points for dumb shit, silly shit, hubris, arrogance, and testosterone was the main component of this night. A lot of toxic masculinity, and I loved it. Amari Jones defeats Jerome Boxer, UD prospect showcase. Jones scored a knockdown as well. Listen, man, these guys on up and coming. There's a lot of money in boxing. There's so many boxing events happening at the same time. Just yesterday, we had Zoopha boxing. Now we have this with Days in. This is Cruz's first attempt at getting a world title. He is Olympic pedigree medalist. He also has B and Keyshawn Davis in the Olympics. Keyshawn Davis is silver. Cruz was gold. Listen, a lot of trash talk. A lot of trash talk. But let's get to it. Israel Madrimov is coming off of, you know, he was getting in there with Crawford, coming off of that loss, coming back from that, and he gets the W. Shout out to him. He, you know, he's back at that contendered level fighting to get back into position. That division is loaded. Going into Khalil Co with Jesse Hart. We saw all the fucking shenanigans and the you know when the weight got missed, people getting each other's faces. There's more shenanigans and hijacks in the fight. People are getting slammed to the ground. This is boxing. This is not a takedown. This is not your scene. This is not wrestling. This is not jujitsu. This is not kung fu panda. This is boxing, bro. Respect the sport. I don't respect shit like that. These guys are great fighters. Don't be a dickhead in there. Your character is indicative of your opportunity after the fight. People are looking at who you are and seeing if you are marketable for their products. Because you are a business. At the end of the day, operate as such. Khalil, he gets the win, but it was a sloppy win. Majority decision. It doesn't look good. They should run it back and be professional. Both sides. When you miss weight and you lose and you win by majority decision, it's almost like a loss. It's almost like a waste of a fight to me. You haven't progressed and you don't look better than the last time we've seen you. Now, Andy Cruz has all the hype of the world. He's fighting over there and training over there in Philly. So we do respect it over there with the boots. Family clan, learning Philly boxing to match his amateur style. And I think he needs to spend some more time. This is not the Olympics. This is pro boxing. Punches and bunches, aggression and effective punching matter. Posturing doesn't matter. Point punching doesn't matter. And hubris does not matter. Andy Cruz was too confident. He thought he had it in the bag. He is an Olympic gold medalist. He is the loser of this match. Majority of the decision going Raymond's way. Listen, Raymond, you are a champ. You had everybody against you. Top rank fighter. I can't believe I did not bet on you. I was this close to betting on you. I said, Andy Cruz, something about his character and his fondness of that win over Keyshawn when he hasn't done much in the pro division, where shit is really cranking. You know, people gotta pay the rent. A lot of Olympic fighters are just good athletes who've gotten into good programs. Pro fighters hit shit to pay bills, it's different. You can turn pro at like 16, and some coaches younger, it's not a game. So when you get in there full of hubris, full of your pedigree, you get reality. Shout out to Raymond, fantastic champion. Did exactly what you're supposed to do as a champion, overcome the odds, the fight. Episode 71.
