Thanks for tapping in to The Life N Times Network !

A fight card can be great and still leave you arguing with your friends afterward, and UFC Fight Night is exactly that kind of night. We go bout by bout through this UK showcase, calling out the performances that felt like real “level ups” and the matchups that quietly steered the action toward safer outcomes. We start with the standouts, including Christian Leroy Duncan’s win and why his middleweight toolkit pops on tape: strong takedown defense, sharp striking, and the kind of pressure that makes opponents fade into survival. From there, we talk about the atmosphere of a UK crowd and why hometown energy can elevate fighters who are still building their name. Then we get into Michael “Venom” Page’s unanimous decision, and the bigger question it raises about UFC matchmaking. When you book a fighter against someone who knows his feints, his timing, and his tendencies, you shouldn’t be shocked when it turns into a cautious, distance-heavy chess match.\n\nThe heat comes in the main event. We break down Murphy vs Movsar round by round, including how the point deduction changes the math and why the final call felt confusing, especially on UK soil. We also look ahead to what Movsar might do against someone like Alexander Volkanovski, and whether elite get-ups and high-level striking can neutralize a wrestle-first plan.\n\nIf you love MMA analysis, UFC Fight Night recaps, and the strategy behind judging and matchmaking, hit play, share this with a friend who keeps scorecards, and leave us a review with your score for the main event.

Quick Intro And Card Setup

It's Layton LA. The fight episode 79. Let's get into it. Murphy versus Avalov. Listen, this is a card. This is a fight night. This is a UK showcase. Let's get into the card. Christian Leroy Duncan defeats Roman U D. It was a very, very competitive. Well, it wasn't competitive. Lucan is very dangerous. He's a very, very, very dangerous middleweight. I feel bad for anybody matching up with him because he can stuff takedowns and then beat you the fuck up on the feet. Hands, knees, and toes. Anything he needed to do, he did to win. Roman was kind of running from the fight as the fight wore on. It's no knock against him. It's just what happened. It's just how the fight played out. Happened and then we move over to Ew getting the def the TKL round one defeat of Austin Lane. This card was great. UK showcasing the UK crowd was amazing. You know, just to see Leroy Duncan and all these guys get a little love where they're from is amazing. It's really, really amazing. And then we have Michael Page. He got the easy UD against Sam Patterson. Listen, if you wanted Michael Venom Page to be challenged, you need to have him fight somebody who doesn't respect his feints, who doesn't, who hasn't trained with him against all. He was his main sparring partner for all of MVP's matches in the UFC. He knew MVP the most. That's why he was that's why it became a point fighting match, why it almost looked like a karate-style match, because Michael Villain Page is very, very dangerous on defeat, and he knows how to stay off the ground and he controls distance very, very well. And he's an older fighter outpacing and beating younger fighters. I don't understand why he didn't get a ranked guy. I don't understand the UFC's politics or what they got going on versus as far as MVP and what they want him to do. But you can't throw him in there with a sparring partner and expect him to out. If I know exactly what's going to happen if I do this, why would I do it? Why would Sam Patterson take any risk? And that's why he didn't take the risk. That's why he lost. That's why he got outperformed. That's why he got outworked. And Michael Page got that UD. Now we move on to Luke Riley versus Michael Oswald Jr. He worked him for three rounds. Easy UD, easily more talented, more damaging. His striking is very, very high level. And he's his anti-grappling style is also high level. Luke Riley looked good. I want to see him fight some guys a little bit higher with some more dangerous abilities, more refined striking. You know, I honestly, if you know UFC, if you know MMA, then you know he was a shoe in the win, especially in the UK crowd. He wants to be, he's gonna be propped up there, he's gonna get pushed there, which I didn't like. And this is this is what's something we're gonna talk about. Let's talk about the main event. We got Mazdar getting the victory over LaRon Murphy uh MD. I don't believe he did. At worst, it's a draw. At best, LaRon Murphy won. LaRon Murphy won one and two, and then round three, Mazdar lost a point. So I don't know what happened there. And they're in the UK, and LaRon Murphy is a UK fighter. This is the first time I've seen the hometown bias not lean towards the other fighter. I'm not saying it's right, but in this capacity, something different should have happened. LaRon Murphy did great, and he did it while injured. See, people said Mobzar would could get the takedown whenever he wanted, but he didn't start getting takedowns until he got injured in the fight, stopping a takedown. Now, is that an excuse for why he lost? No. But I do think LaRon Murphy did enough to get at least a draw in his hometown. I don't know how that happened. I know Alex Volkonowski is a hard matchup for Mazdar because he can stop takedowns and he can strike at a high level. So what are you gonna do? You go for A, you're gonna get B and A at the same time. Belt to S. We shall see how he does against Volkonowski. I am still leading towards Volk. If Mazdar wins, it will be boring, guys. He will wrestle fuck him for three rounds to five rounds, three to four rounds. I feel like Volkanovsky, if he has success in get ups against Islam, he's gonna have success in get ups against Mazar. So we'll see how that goes. Shout out to the UFC, shout out to UFC Fight Night. We're catching up on a fight happening in episode 79.
