I break down two boxing cards, from early stoppages and clear skill gaps to the matchmaking choices that shaped the night, then dive into Tim Tszyu’s return, Sam Goodman’s steady win, Errol Spence questions, and the grit of the UK card before getting into Wilder vs. Chisora, where the action was real but the officiating sparked a bigger debate about fairness, favoritism, and what Wilder still has left.
Late Night Boxing Preview
SPEAKER_00It's late in LA. The fight, life of Thompson Network, episode 84. Let's get into it. Listen, guys, I know boxing. I know boxing. I understand it. I know what's gonna happen. I'm a big fan of it. Let's get into the Temp Tazoo card. Then we get into Chizora versus Wilder. Starting it off, we got Paulo getting the round one TKO. Listen, a lot of damage. A lot of damage. I'm glad they stopped that fight. A lot of damage on that man. Shout out to Paulo for getting that W. PKO round one, run one and done. Kippon got outworked, outpunched. This too much, too much, too much at once, too much at once, too much at once. Colin Peters defeats Dalio round two, TKO too much at once, punches and bunches. This guy could not keep up. Listen, when guys are on the up and coming in boxing, and versus guys who are just trying to get a paycheck or just getting in there, or they just don't have the skill. Like look, the skill gap in boxing is very, very apparent. It's very apparent. Like when Shakur Stevenson fought Josh Padley, there's a very apparent difference in their approach, their tools, their execution, their focus. It's just it's just different. Shout out to Colin Peters, you're just different. Round two TKO, punches and bunches. Shout out to PBC putting out these fights. Great card, by the way. Top to bottom. Now we get into Nelson getting a round three TKO win and victory over Jared Wallace. A lot can be said, a lot was done in that fight. You know, these guys are hungry. PBC and all these other boxing promotions have to do better matchmaking to create moments like this. The first three fights on a main card are all TKOs. In boxing, when usually, you know, I I tell people boxing is like it's like a steak. Watching a boxing fight versus watching an MMA fight is like eating a steak versus going to the store and grabbing Chipotle or going to the restaurant. It's a lot more involved. There's a lot more people, right, at the restaurant cooking and making your meal, right? There's a lot more elements in an MMA fight than it is a boxing fight. But if your food isn't how you like it, then you just don't eat it, right? If you're at a restaurant. But if you make a steak at your house, you're eating it. You took the time to eat it. You took the time to make it. It's cooked to your preferences, no one else's. It's not a general take. So what I what I mean is, you know, for boxing to have such a high level of skill involved with it and technicality involved with it, for the matchmaking to be this well excited for this new generation of boxing and boxing. Now we get to Sam Goodman. He gets the UD over Rodrigo. I mean, it was predictable. The guy couldn't catch him, couldn't touch him, couldn't do anything to him. He was not controlling the fight. Sam Goodman was, and that's what happens, man. Now we got Tim Zazoo. You know, he's coming back after a second loss against Fondora. Tim is probably gonna fight Errol Spence. He outworked, outpunished, and he still got hurt by and cut by his opponent. And I think that's why he's fighting Spence next. Tim looked good but beatable in this fight and in this performance and in his career. He's always been good but beatable. And I think that's why he's Errol Spence is coming off of retirement and coming off of that beating he took from Terrence Crawford back into boxing and fighting him first. I think he should work his way up from that to fighting Fondora. So Errol Spence beats 10 to 2 and then fights Fondora. We shall see how that goes. Errol Spence is out of his prime and he probably will get fucked up by Fondora. I'm sorry, but we shall see. Now, going over to the Chazore versus Wilder card over there in the UK. We got Amir Anderson getting the round eight TKO over Jordan. Tough, tough fight, back and forth fight. It was kind of crazy. It was kind of like Rocky. You know, and this is why I like the UK cars. There's a lot of pride and honor and respect people have for their fighters, and the fighters bring it to the ring. Now, we get into Maddie Harris getting the TKO over Franklin in round two. Again, punches and punches, a lot of damage, a lot of a lot of people putting it on one another. You know, rivalries and trash talk fuels all of that. But the execution is the execution. So shout out to Maddie Harris for that round two. TKO over Franklin. Now we get into Denzel Bentley versus injury. Listen, tough, tough, tough matchmaking, tough for both fighters. Both fighters took some risks and lost something out there. But Denzel won ultimately getting that TKO in round seven. But Dow Riley still getting wins, still fighting UD. I believe this is his third match. Maybe he's gonna fight for that belt here soon. We shall see. Now we have Deontay Wilder versus Derek Chazar. Listen, in boxing, where they fight matters. Okay? Some people don't want to fight in Vegas because of Floyd. Some people don't want to fight in certain arenas because of what they're known for. The ref should have been disqualified. Derek Chazar should have been disqualified. He got picked up by his team. He had people coming into the ring. So many instances where Deontay Wilder should have clearly got a KO or a DQ win. It was insane the hometown favoritism and the bullshit Derek Chesara was able to get off in that match in the UK. Deontay Wilder wins a SD, but he should have got a UD or a knockout earlier in this fight. It's insane the shit I seen in this card. Not this card, but just this main event. Like this is like, okay, I understand Wilder saying he was cheated. He was cheated. The first Fury fight cheated. And if he came into the second one with the confidence that he can knock him out, come on. Different career, different everything. And people can say what they want. That's what I believed. That's what we saw. And if you have no issue with what's going on right here in this boxing match between Wilder and Derek Chazor, then you're not a boxing fan. You're a fighter fan. And that's okay. But don't sit here and tell me that was by the book boxing and roughing in that fight. Not at all. Now, talking about that, we still have to talk about Wilder and his heart and that round eight. Despite all the ugliness in this fight, despite all the tricks, all the bullshit, all the ref shit, this was a great fight for boxing fans. I'm glad these two old heads went at it. I'm glad Wilder's leaving win a W and more, you know, more gusto and ammo for him to fight somebody else and keep putting checks in his pocket, bro. You know, it looks like Wilder needs the bread. Wilder's dealing with a lot emotionally and mentally. So he even said he like stopped trying to knock out Kizora because he saw that he was fading. He's like, I need you to be here for your family. So I think something in Deontay Wilder, similar to Izzy's mindset, has changed. And because their mindset has changed, it can affect their IQ. Even though the fight was his, he could have won way more cleaner. Way more cleaner. And I hope he doesn't fight any of these guys. But he's welcoming a fight with Atuma. He's welcome in a fight with Anthony Joshua. So these guys are still trying to be great. So shout out to Deontay Wilder. He didn't try, he did it. He's still great. Defeats Chizora in his hometown. The fight Life of Times Network. Episode 84.
