And I was having this conversation with a lot of like new gen like anime watchers that are really into jujitsu kaizen or are starting with jujitsu kaizen as their first anime. I was like, yo, they're really changing, they really change the format of like Woken because the colour game isn't necessarily like your traditional tournament arc. You know what I mean? At all. It's not your traditional tournament. And a lot of these characters that are in the main cast aren't your traditional shonen characters. Yuji is very different. I guess you can say, I guess you can say Ushigro is is kind of like typical like Oiasuke, he kinda kinda kind of archetype. But I would say the colour game is different. It's like a puzzle, bro, that you can add and take away rules from if you have enough points. Like, I mean, at the in its purest form, you still gotta do a people. You still gotta box, you still gotta fight. You gotta literally bust. Yeah, you know what I mean? It's not like it's not your your world tournament, it's not your cell games, it's not your uh hunter exams, your tuning exams. It's not one on, it's uh well, in those tournaments, it was one-on-one. And this one V everybody. That's it. Kind of like a gang, right? You decide to get the mail, the neighbor's like, yo, you good? Look like you got some cursed energy over there, bro. I was I didn't know that certain people didn't know. Like, there's some real anime only's out here. I forgot, bro. You know, and here's the thing. I hate, like, I hate to be that person where it's like anime only's, but it's like, yo, I'm the type I need the info. Like, once I know it was out there, I have to know. That's what I'm saying. It's like, that's the biggest thing in my head. I'm like, if you like anime, then you must like Mongay. But there's people, and we'll talk about it, but like, there's people who watch Invincible but never read an invincible comic. Like, not a one. Like, it's like that's why like like I go watch a Marvel movie, and people who haven't read comics are like, oh, why isn't this happening? Why isn't oh, why is this person like this? Like, somebody was surprised when Spider-Man was working Winter Soldier. I was like, if you know Ball. No, if you gotta know Ball, man, you have to. Well, how are you feeling about this fire force? It just had its finale, it's over. Lil Wade, tell me, you know, that's that's another that's another unique one where it's like you have that, you have that hopeful, you have that hopeful character in Shinra. And the kind of it's not necessarily like a per like anytime you have that hopeful character, you they're trying to change the perspective of someone who only sees darkness in another character. But with Fire Force, the darkness is the world, and I find that so interesting, bro. Where again, that's a it's a this another one. This another one where like I ran through the manga. So apologies for spoilers. But with with Shinra being like the god, turning into like the god and being kind of hidden from the world, like it's like the church was kind of like we had to make sure no one found out he was actually the prophet. So we kind of let that whole him being a devil propaganda run. You know what I mean? Like that's it's crazy. I mean, it's really how it really works, bro. The celestials are real. Oh yeah, yeah. But shadows crazy did uh fire force as all is fire, it's it's gas, no breaks, and he's at the end of that shit. It really explained, you know, how we got Soul Eater and how their powers work and that whole universe and connected. It was just it was Chef's Kiss. We know we talked about the Megan Stalin situation, but iShow Speed is now stepping into the anime world. The One Piece showrunner is talking to him about set setting up and doing his own anime or anime, you know, real action or live. Did you see like the you Hakashu? It had a live action one. Yeah, I did. And you know, I'm very skeptical about live action animes, but bro, firm believer in I think more things should be animated because I think when you animate a lot of series, when you animate just anime in general, you can portray a lot of more exaggerated emotions and situations because you're not necessarily thinking real cool. There are certain there are certain titles that I feel like are more suited towards live action, but I also think you can get more versatility out of uh anime. But for I Show Speed, he's another one. He's another one. When he first came out, he kinda he kind of literally burst onto the scene. And I didn't I didn't really know when I first heard of him, I didn't really know what his whole MO was. But of course, with him being black, I was like, yo, bro, you don't get in any trouble. I hope you push the culture, and you know what I'm saying? I'm rooting for you. I'm rooting for you, type we're seeing. I mean, I didn't that's how I approached it as well. Like, I didn't know about any of these streamers and any. I think it was like around COVID, I got into YouTubers and stuff like that, right? Yeah, and then it was kind of on my radar, and then the YouTuber I was like paying attention to at the time was DDG. And then DDG started doing the streaming shit, and then I started seeing all these streamers, and I wanted to see like the business of it, how it works, and there's a lot of stuff you could do with it. Like, that'll probably be like a next step where we'll do is like do like an anime stream where we'll watch the shit and react to it live, but like it's it's a crazy niche, and I wonder if he's gonna have that at all involve. Like, you know, he's been showing the behind the scenes of the countries he visits, right? What if he shows the behind the scenes of like how an anime is made top to bottom? That'd be crazy. He's another one that's like really put that's really pushing the culture because I remember like like we were saying in past episodes, RDC were some of the first kind of love dreamers that I started paying attention to because they started popping up in my algorithms because they're into everything I'm into video games, Marvel, anime. So I was like, I kind of got at first, Speed was a little more boisterous with like the whole, he was like the whole barking. Yeah, I mean he was doing some shit that I could like watch it. Like even him, so constant I can't, I just can't watch it consistently because I'm not that age. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, it's like that wasn't the way the way Speed started kind of tapping into my demographic is he started hanging out with footballers, like oh, he started hanging out with Paul Pugba. He went to Brazilian Ronaldo's house, Ronaldo Nosadio, the like Elfanomino and stuff like that. And he started hanging out with a bunch of footballers, and I'm like, yo, how would this dude is getting into rooms of like legendary footballers that certain journalists ain't even get near? So I was like, I really started paying attention more to this dude. You know what I'm saying? And I was like, wow, like I really hope. I was like, dude, that's when I really started rooting for him because I was like, wow, you're starting to like touch my interests. So like I'm really, like, I'm really for you now. Yeah, I'm excited to see what that happened, what happens with this project, far as actual speed and One Piece, the writer, the showrunner over there, to see what they can do. And let's get into One Piece LBF. It's crazy. Yo, I'm telling you. Crazy, man. We are this is supposed to be um not Sanji, but Usopps. Like, this is his art. Like, we must see some work here. This is we happen to see some work in here, man. Yo, Loki looks crazy. And you had to like this. This is one of those ones where if you're if you're caught up or if you're nearly caught up, I'm just like, yo, you have to see it through. Because again, yeah, one piece is one piece is one of those ones where I fear when I tell people when it's all said and done that it'll go down as the greatest anime of all time. Like, people look at me like, uh, I'm like, yo, you just it's one of those, it really is one of those if you know you know type of situations because I understand just the power of One Piece is what turns a lot of people off. Like, if you're just getting into anime, I would not suggest One Piece to you because that's all you're gonna watch. Not gonna be not gonna have time for anything else. But for the ones that stuck with it, I'm like, yo, you got to see it through because the animation only gets crispier, the fight only get better. Everyone has such a crazy 180 with their character development arcs. And even though, even though there's still a lot of pain, not necessarily healed from with one piece, it's just like, wow, it really is Chef's Kiss, I'll be real. And I can understand why people are like, hey, it's not about the destination, but the friends you make along the way in the journey. It's really a journey, bro. I kind of don't want it to end. I've been watching, I've been watching One Piece as long as I've been a band. You know, like it is kind of crazy. I'm about to start, I'm about to touch my 30s. One piece came out when I was in third grade, brother. This is wild. It's wild. This is really the LeBron of anime, bro. Like year after year, just goaded success, high peaks, nothing you can do with it. I'm excited. I I'm I'm I'm a fan. I'm I try to keep up as far as the manga. I'm pretty sure the manga in the anime are very close now. Yeah. Gotcha. Yeah, they're they're like very close. Yeah, so like I think I'm pretty caught up. How do you feel about this? And this is this because this is kind of like a two-parter, right? I sent you that that little meme about things being too pervy in anime, and then we get this anime rooster fighter, right? I of course I haven't watched it. It was a bit pop ma. This is the shit that happens when you recommend somebody into anime. One of our boys, he's like, yo, bro, this is the stuff you watch. Like, this is a show. Like, dog, bro. I didn't pick that one up, bro. I didn't watch that one. I mean, I don't I don't recommend it either, but like the perviness is getting out of hand. And it really is getting out of hand. And I think it's I think it's because the I think it's because, you know, your Japan's, your career, your China's. They understand. Because it so my whole thing before it was, right, rest of the world looks at nudity way differently than than we do, than Westerners do. You know what I mean? So they're they're like comfortable with it. That doesn't like bother them or make them as uncomfortable, right? That was that was the narrative that I used to I used to like push to people when they're like, yo, what's going on with these big breast women and like all these schoolgirl type situations? It's like, yo, listen. It's really the schoolgirl type situations that we need to get out. Right. That has to let's like really X that out. The shit's crazy. Cause you know, it's her little you ever watched uh Belly DMX? The movie Yeah, so remember he was talking to the shirty in the pink room with this like iconic, right? Yeah, but we forget that shirty was 16. Yeah, and it's crazy because that's crazy. I didn't realize I didn't realize that. That's because again, I saw it as a kid and I wasn't even supposed to. I saw it as a kid. I I was like, You know what I mean? I was like, I saw a clip of it and I was like, wait. So I feel like we gotta, we gotta, but that's reality too. Like people are still doing it on the block. That's happening every day. Amongst all cultures, amongst all cultures. So the perviness, bro, the perviness is getting out of hand. Yeah, it's pressure. Get out of hand. I understand you're looking different. Y'all are comfortable with that type of, but uh like you gotta I it gets to a point where it gets to a point and you gotta understand the difference. It's not for a story, you gotta tune in in. You know what I mean? Like, it's not necessary, like it's not pushing, it's not pushing the narrative, it's not pushing the story. There's no character development in it. Like, y'all are just y'all are throwing it in there like cherries and parsley at this point. Like, it's not improving the flavor. Like, you know, bro, I was watching uh Kanichi, the mightiest disciple. It's like an old throwback anime I watch from time to time. And there's this character Mew in it, and I had to like prep my girl to understand that this is how they do it over there. Like, I didn't, I didn't I didn't set this up. Slice Twinkin, he's probably looking at you sideways. Like, like, what is what is this is this is what you no no the season was crazy, but it's not all about that. It's about martial arts. But it's crazy that you gotta preface that with people. And I was thinking about that with this rooster fighter anime, it's going viral because of that shit. As far as like do you watch uh do you watch the garku? Oh my god. Gakuchu? Gotcha tua? Oh my god, I'm messing that up bad. Oh gotcha, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Gachi Akuda. Gacha Akuda. I want to say gotcha. Yeah, gotcha okuda. Gotcha okuda. I wanna got it. I know a little bit. I know a little bit Japanese. Baki? You know, like in college, bro, bro, when we were in college together, bro, we were like watched the anime so like it. We would start, I don't know about you, but like I could read it and hear it, it sounds like English. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's no, I'm like, I just understood it. Like it was crazy. I'm telling you, I remember I tell uh literally telling myself like since college, I'm like, at this point, I might as well learn Japanese just so I can watch anime without subtitles, bro. Like how do you pillows about the anime, bro? It's pretty fire, it's pretty fire. I'm about five episodes deep so far. And I love what I see is again like this is another one where season the season two promo was heavily in my algorithm. And I'm DNA, so now I'm like, whoa, yeah, I need uh I need more, I need some of this in my life. Because again, this came out, I want to say this started popping up on my around the solo leveling time. Yeah, it came out around that time. Yeah, around that solo leveling time. So I was like, yeah, yeah, I need I need all this fire around. But I like I like what I see so far. Five episodes deep. I'm trying to make it to that season. And I like what I see, honestly. Bro, the power system is so good in there. And that's that's it. It's so imaginative, bro. Yeah, that's what I like about New Gen Anime is like the power system is really, it's it's complex and it's unique. Like going back to juju's and your your gotcha kudas. Like, I'm I'm a fan of that. I'm a fan of like those hacks power scaling systems, where it's like anyone can get it. It's not like anyone's the outright strongest, but anyone can get it. I like situational stuff where like Hunter X Hunter was really good at that. Early Naruto was like, you you didn't know what could happen. Like, like, no, if he didn't have this digital, he was dead. You know what I mean? Like, I I really appreciate well thought out like action. Um, there's something similar. Dori Hidoro, season two is out. I don't know if we've seen the first season or ever heard this anime, but bro, this is a Netflix. It's on Netflix, it is fire, bro. Okay. One of the okay. Yeah, because Netflix got nervous. Like, let's not, let's, let's just play. Netflix is invested in anime, bro. Like, they put up a bunch of uh Baki, JoJo Bazaar, like they are they're they're getting their bag off of anime, but Doro Hidori, bro, is crazy. You should definitely check it out. I I recommend it to everybody. Season two is out. And then, like, what do you think makes an anime rewatchable? Because I was just talking about like one of my comfort animes, like Kanichi. I re-watch Yuhu Hakushu all the time because it's just like one of those things you can just throw on. Like, it's just a classic. Like, you can you can throw on Inasha and just get caught up in the dream. Yeah, nostalgia, I I would say for if you've been if you've been watching anime before the great shift, I would definitely say nostalgia is a huge fuse you just said Inuyasha, Yu Yu Haku Shows, Hunter Hunters, Naruto, because those are those are some of the those are some of the animes, some of the only enemies that are around at the time. You got your samurai champ los. Classic. I think I think since we were talking about Soul Eater before because of Fire Force, I think Yeah, what makes Soul Eater even more rewatchable now is that there's a new layer of context to that entire universe because it's connected to Fire Force. And I think just it I also think just the time is like, mind you, those first two seasons of Sword Art Online is crazy crazy. First season of Sword Art Online, like you could tell me, bro. You couldn't tell me that wasn't goaded. It like the fall was so bad. It was treacherous, bro, because those first two seasons you really felt the circumstance. Like it was really people trapped in that game, like, yo, I gotta survive. And then there were some people that just said, Man, fuck it. Like, I'm gonna start killing other players if I'm trapped here, because it's like it's me or you, I choose me. You know what I mean? Freddie Krueger dying and dream. He died good character, like compelling. I'd say compelling villains, actually, because I think now that we're older and we can watch you we can watch different like medias with a new lens. I think having a compelling villain that you can agree with I think makes an anime rewatchable. Because I think that's the gauge of protagonists is how good their villains are. Because if you can agree with a villain, that means the protagonist has to be compelling in some sort. Like, bro, we bought let's keep it above. Like, we all agreed with Thanos at some point. Like, like Thanos is kind of right, like he did it the wrong way, but like some people I'm talking to, I'm like, oh dog, you just gotta go. Like, this guy's a what is going on here? This guy's an This guy's a snorelocks in the road of progress. You know what I mean? Bro, speaking of compelling villas, how do you feel about invincible? Do you are you caught up on that? Do you watch that? Yeah, it's uh I gotta get into the latest thing, but for the most part, like again, I know what's coming. I'm not all the way caught up to the most recent scene, but I know what's coming. I know we're working towards. Okay, so you're a breast though. That is pretty well to see the progression of that. But I'm a big Invincible fan. I really, really can't wait to see the next couple of steps for that anime in that universe. How did you feel about Tech Jacket, the gender change? I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but I'm hearing there's rumblings about the voice actor that they're in some situations. It's like, I think the problem with a lot of people, one, all right, what's wrong is wrong. If somebody stands for something wrong, I find out, obviously, I don't want to associate or do business with them or give them some bread. But like, how am I not on some investigative shit when I watch a TV show? That's what I'm saying. It's like this is you know what I mean? Like, why is it this deep? And it's so parasocial, bro. I like this shit did not exist when I was a kid. Like, people weren't that invested. Like, people know more about like whatever TV show they like more than their current government, like, or their own financial like standing. It's crazy to me. Look, I stay within my tax bracket. What sad is that they came in so hot, especially out of so hot where where anime was getting, I don't, I want to say stale. Like there wasn't, there wasn't as much there wasn't as many choices like for titles. Like a lot of animes were on breaks, their writers were burnt out, like they didn't, they were they were struggling for bread to put out to put out episodes. So like we were kind of in this weird like void where we did we weren't eating as lavish as we're eating right now. And then Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man came out first couple of episodes. We're like, whoa, this animation is something we've never seen before. And you know, everyone had those same questions where it's like, is this animation sustainable or are they only doing this because this is the first season, first couple of episodes? And I'm very hard on Demon Slayer because again, I was reading, I was burning through that manga because I was like, yo, this anime is so crispy. Even and even the manga pages were clear. The artwork is crazy. The artwork was insane. So I was like, wow, if they're able, if they're able to use drawings for the manga, I can only imagine for for the anime. But the thing is, it's just like the story just has sentence. You know when food like looks really good, but there's just no flavor? Like we eat, so that's hey, bro. Either both it's shit like it. It's mad shit. Yeah, like I have all these choices, but you know, you're loading up the plate, you sit down, you rub your hands together, and you like you take your first, and you're like, oh that's it. No wonder it's a buffet, because I gotta eat a lot. You know, you're down there old, hot sauce and all these or so. So you're gonna go ahead and grab a condiment, like it's not really doing what it needs to be done as far as like 2026. What what anime is your anime for the year? Lord of Mysteries. Thank you very much. Lord of Mysteries, Lord, okay, Lord of Mysteries. Thank you very much. Also, I want to give a shout out to the unlimited Niobu Kioske because one, Lord of Mysteries is very like, and the system is completely unique. It's kind of like a bleach Sherlock Holmesy kind of hunter hunter-esque type situation going on, and you're not there's there's oh man, it's it's so good. It is so good. And the unlimited Niobu uh Niobu Kyosuke or Hiobu Kyosuke is kind of like it's kind of like mob psycho times a thousand, bro. Mob psycho was something already really good, and then you get the limited Hyobu Kyosuke, that is all another turn on like Esperz. There's a there's certain percentage of Espers in the world that have psychic powers and all these different types of abilities, and then you bring in government where they're trying to control all these people with psychic powers and turn them into weapons that have their own military force of just Espers who have psychic powers that can pretty much no one can mess with you. So those two animes definitely wanna definitely wanna big up. Yeah, no, I haven't watched either. I've read Lord of Mysteries, like I've read it. So like I know what's on down, but I haven't watched it. So I'm gonna watch it. Yo someone for someone like you, especially someone like you who love like who was really in the books and you love like literary nuances and all those type of things, Lord of Mysteries is going to be your jam. Also, shout out to Sentence to Be a Hero. That's uh I was gonna I was gonna say that's my one too. Sentence to be a hero, and I have to go, I have to go Baki because I really enjoy what Baki is. Respectfully. You know what I'm saying? Like it's just it is what it is, and it doesn't try to be more or less. Shit's hilarious, and it has some great fights. And like I'm I'm like getting into anime more, like making it more a part of my daily consumption. I've been like grinding, bro. I've been grinding with work, but like now that I'm getting out of that, I'm glad to like be getting into anime and and like it's crazy like how these shows, especially incarnate reincarnated to be, man. That that right there is crazy. The premise and how it goes down and just that first episode, anime is going to next levels, and it's starting to become accepted media, you know? For sure, for sure. I think that's like no, not accepted, but respected. Oh, yeah, respected, yeah, respected for sure. Respected for sure, because there's just so many titles now. Like, we didn't even mention like the Fate series or like Freighted or like Free Ren. Um I've never watched that, so like I gotta get into that. Yeah, dude. My anime watch list just getting like I made a big yo, every coming back, and especially new titles dropping, I made a huge dent in just going, clearing out titles like I finished Hell's Paradise, finished the Fire Forks, Lord of Mysteries, Fate, the newest fate is Freerin, sends to be a hero, and all that type of stuff.
