Demons Of The Shadow Realm Breakdown
SPEAKER_00Burning them good calories, man. Gotta you know you know how it gets with the Viltromites, man. Don't make sure to test you. Make sure that chain is real. Battle Beast, you can't fly. Get the fuck out of here. Gotta make sure the lineup is crisp and the chain is real. Bro, he threw Battle Beast in space. You can't fly. Get out of here, man. But let's get into it. One of the GOA Animes, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, the creator from Nat has created a new show. It's called Demons of the Shadow Realm. It is fire. As three episodes out, episode four might be out now as I speak. Bro, the concept in the power set is fire. So you get magic, right? Then you get skills and abilities, like whatever you know how to do, if you know how to fight, if you're an archer, if you're because the main character is an archer. And he uses that to compensate because other people got magic and other people got this. And then the other power source is demons, right? This is something you bond with your blood, and these are two spirits, they have their own set of abilities, and everybody got demons, or everybody got magic, or everybody got skills. And they live in a separate reality from this. That's I would say Asgard versus Midgard. Yeah, it's a different dimension. And humans can cross over, and that's how the protagonist has come through. And they're like chosen ones, but he's been staying there, protecting his sister, staying in the village, and that's not really his sister. That's deep. And you know, here's the thing. One, I've heard of this, I have it bookmarked on my watch list on Crunchyroll, and things for I I love Full Metal Alchemist. It definitely freaked me out as a kid because I watched it. I'm talking like eight, nine years old, I was watching Full Metal Alchemist. And that whole Philosopher of Stone humong humungali thing definitely freaked me out. And I'm definitely a fan of anything that has to do with magic, demons, different power sets or classes. Because this kind of when I saw the trailer for it, it reminded me of this old anime came out that wasn't out for long when I was a kid called Zatch Bell. Oh my god. That's actually a Zatch Bell anime. Yeah, that shit. Could see them. So unless you had a little the grimoire or you were inclined to the magic, you couldn't see they're kind of like some doll. Yeah, that's they can't be seen. The demons can't be seen. It's so crazy. Yeah. I'm a fan of that. I'm definitely bookmarked. So I'm gonna tap in sooner than later. I feel you, man. Do you think like Full Mill Alchemist? To me, it is a complete anime. Like, it's everything I love about Dragon Ball Z and other animes of the same ilk, even synons, like like Bungu Stray Dogs. I think it did what all those animes did in a shorter time with less episodes in a compact storyline. Like it did, it got straight to it. Yes. And put it in that same ilk of like Attack on Titan, where it's a very complex story. It's well written, complete story, characters aren't wasted. There's a lot of layers to everything. Like it's an onion anime, as in like each episode starts peeling back more and more layers, and it doesn't let you forget things either, because it will tie up those loose ends. Yeah, there's nothing missing in that anime. In the protagonist, unlike a lot of ones we know, gave up his power. Right. Okay? He gave it up so he could take care of his peoples, man, so his brother can shine. We don't see that a lot out here. I haven't like watched this anime yet, but I keep hearing about it. It's the Witch Hat Attler. It's like a fantasy anime. It's kind of like Ferron. But I can't get into like the magical girl genre. Yeah, I see what you mean. Have you seen what I'm saying? Because it was like Sailor Moon was kind of the only exception for me. And that was the first one. That was the only touchdown. It pushed it too. Yeah, Sailor Moon. Like, yo, let me watch this magical. Because that's like a whole genre. Inanimate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I've never been in on it. Like, I I so like I stopped watching Seven Deadly Sins because of how they were doing the shorty, like the fairy or whatever. Come on, bro. With Bond looking like a grown-ass man, bro. Come on, bro. Yeah, they were that that made me a little uncomfortable. I was like, I was like, Seven Deadly Sins, you're losing me for that. I'm not gonna lie. Even with the captain, right? He looks like a little boy. So it's like they be owing some shit. So like I that's the only reason I can't get into like certain like animes where they say the protagonist is 11, 12, 13, or they're young. And then the themes are mature as fuck, unless it's like I promised the promised never land. Remember that one?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_00That was heat. That was he until then it got trash. But it was heat. It was heat. You mix the stored our online or something. It was peak straight heat. It was peak until it wasn't. Absolutely, bro. I was just watching the first season and saw our online. Sometimes I watch that and just turn it off, bro. I'm telling you, because that was like that was quality dopamine, bro. Like my son Kirito was really going through the trenches dolo. He was giving it all up. Bro. He was telling everyone, he's like, bro, I'm gonna make it out this game, and I'm not, I'm only gonna catch bodies if you try and come after me. Like, I really don't want to hurt you, bro. Like, and I really like characters that have that kind of resolve where it's like, not gonna get to that point unless you push me to that point. It's like everyone has a threshold, and it's like, bro, I've been telling you to not push me past that threshold, and you went out your way and did it. So it's like now my hand, bro, you've tried my hand. You forced me. I had to. Yeah, Kiratu had to, bro. He he got to it, bro. I'm just saying, like, with all these new animes, like, what do you think the new big three is gonna be? Like, I know there was supposed there was an anime by uh Kishimoto, Samurai 8, like the manga. I don't know if that got picked up for an anime yet, but I never watched it either. But like we're not watching it. Yeah, kaiju number eight for sure. But like, let's be real, bro. That story is very weak. The action is good. Yeah, do you know what I'm saying? The manga, the manga, I would say the manga was riding was the manga's really good, I would say for kaiju number eight. The manga is really good, but I don't think it again, like you were saying, I don't think story-wise, it holds up with what we've gotten.
SPEAKER_01Like I would say jujutsukazen is definitely gonna be is definitely one of the leaders of the new gen. You see, I got jujutsukazen, solo leveling.
SPEAKER_00Solo leveling, yes, I agree with that.
SPEAKER_01I love me some Lord of Mysteries, but I don't know if Lord of I I think Lord of Mysteries is a little more niche.
When Anime Themes Get Uncomfortable
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's not that popular yet with people. Yeah, it's a little more niche. Oh, like there's there's really good animes out right now, don't get me wrong. Like, there's a very good animes out. I just don't know, I just don't think any of them are so loud to the point where it's like they uh they've announced themselves that like yo, I'm the one. Yeah, there hasn't been like something so brand new that this changed the scene. Like all they're all happily coexisting, you know? Yeah, there's like 15 is you can watch. And they all like they all kind of all right. You know what I'm saying? Like I don't know if you've ever seen that dungeon anime on Netflix.
SPEAKER_01The dungeon, nah, nah, nah, nah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it's like this cooking, it's like a cooking dungeon anime. So they kill things, they cook it up, and it starts off like you think it's like uh like a cooking show. What is it? What do they call that? It's a genre of anime. Like not sports. Slice of life. It's a sport of life. Okay, it's like a slice of life dungeon, right? Yeah, so there's classes, there's adventures, there's thieves, there's a whole guild, and uh magic is this, people can come back to life and shit. They're trying to get his man's, but in between all that, they be cooking. Like they'll kill something, break it down, and cook it and eat it. Like it, like on like it's a cooking anime in an adventure anime, in an action anime, and it has drama in it too. So they're like, there's some multifaceted animes out there. There was this, he's like, is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon? What happened to that anime? Oh, is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon? I don't think I haven't watched that one either. Oh, dude, you gotta watch that. So it's like it's like sword art online, but it stays good. It stays good for like three seasons. I don't know what happened. I actually need to catch up and see if another season is gonna come out. But like basically, all the gods, right? Egyptian gods, Olympian gods, African gods, they all have houses. And those houses you get, you can join up, right? And then you get benefits, and you go run dungeons for them and bring shit back to them. And they they all have all these little thiefs and drama. And Belle, our main character, is attached to Estella. So a minor goddess, right? So he's doing major shit with a minor goddess, and like they still have a level up system in a stat system, and like people learn moves and shit like that, but like it's very, very good. Like the dungeon, like uh the dungeon mechanics and the world around the dungeons and the culture of it is really good. I'm a fan of these animes that are coming out where it's like they have like a grind system, like a level, a leveling system. I'm watching Jack of all trades right now. Oh yeah, I'm loving it, bro. Since episode one, I was like, I know Orhun is about to be the truth. Because what do you mean you have just come with your own original magic? And mostly spellcasters can only buff their own abilities two to three times. And this brother came up with an original spell that can boost himself up to 50 times. He can stack it. Yo, I was like, Yeah, this guy's the truth. I like all the twists in like the Izakai's. Like, I like the first season of Shield Hero Quest fire. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rise of the shield. Heat. Heat. But they dropped it so bad. Oh, bro. Yeah, they dropped it through the big thing. That made it good, they took it away, bro. Like the leveling, the stats, the grinding. You ever see that Pokemon movie Pokemon Origins? The anime version of Pokemon. It's like how episodes are. Yeah, like how all originated from like the god of Pokemon who can like do everything. No, bro, it's based off of like Pokemon Fire Rare. So, like, you know the Pokemon Fire Rare game, right? Like that entire journey through the game, it's an anime, bro. What?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00How about not heard of it? Pokemon Origins. I'll see you a link, bro. Shit's fire. It was amazing. The fighting and everything, like, it's like Power World, bro. Everything we wanted to do, it's do it. Like, it's like real stakes in the battles. The moves aren't like, oh, Pikachu do this. It's his turn. No, it's lost. But uh, yeah, that's a really good one. Have you ever read or watched Golden Camel?
SPEAKER_01Golden Camel? Nah.
SPEAKER_00So it's like one of those historical animes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
The New Big Three Debate
SPEAKER_00It's like it's historical military. But what I like about this is real. It's like humans. They're like nobody's really that buffed. There's no like superpowers here. Like, if you get shot, you may die. That shit is fire. I like stuff where it's like real. There's a lot of boxing anime that I used to watch. Hajime no hippo is a really good anime. If you ever want to get to a boxing anime or watch Hajime No Ippo, bro, it's on Netflix, bro. You should check it out. It's one of the like I know you don't really watch sports anime. I'm telling you, this is beyond a sports anime, bro. Megalobox, Megalopox was my was my one. Yeah, I like Megalobox a lot. And it was like, it was nice, it was short. Of course, I watched Baki the Capillary. Baki's hard. Baki's funny as shit. Bach Lary, I laugh so hard at Baki, bro. I can't. Like the way they be explaining shit, bro. Bro, the way Baki breaks down a jab is insane. Yeah, those are my two favorite boxing animes. Megalobox and Baki the Grappler.
SPEAKER_01Like, those are illegal.
SPEAKER_00I recommend Kanichi the Mindest Disciple. That's a really good one. Martial arts anime. Mr. The North Star? That's another fool one. I've seen it, but I haven't seen it. They just put out like a new version of it. Yeah, I saw that. And I was like, my as well. So, like, I know what you're talking about. That shit was like banned in my house, bro. Because I was trying to do the exploding fist. I was trying to do that. People had issues. So they like banned it from me. I was banned, bro. Rule the league, bro. It's crazy, bro. That shit in wrestling, bro. You know the FU in the fucking RKO? I was doing that shit around the block, bro. People's like, yo, we gotta ban this shit. It was going on. Oh, man. Good times, man. Love getting banned from stuff. But if this is a North Star in anime, period, just like it's inspiring, especially when you're young. And I really recommend that over the spoof bit cartoons these kids are eating up now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I'll be real. Have you ever seen Trigun?
unknownTry Gun.
SPEAKER_00Is it kind of like a Gundam type thing going on? I would say Cowboy Bebop, but with no crew, just him. Yeah. Wait, hold on. Is that a good one? Oh, okay. I thought it was because I saw a trailer for one where dude was branded out of jail, and I think it was from the creators of Cowboy Bebop. You're talking about Lazarus. Yeah. That shit was fire, bro. Great. Okay. It's crazy. Some people are like, it really like it's interesting how they write things. You know, like, and the people you need to actually get things done. It's always some muddy shit. I love how they write characters. They're like flawed. They grow. Bro, have you ever watched Cyberpunk?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was fire. I was unexpectedly fired.
Dungeon Anime And Leveling Systems
SPEAKER_00Bro, that shit knocked my socks off. Bro, that was like the first time in a long time I watched an anime. I was like, yo. Yeah. I was like, wow, this is refreshing. This is refreshing. Something gotta be happening. I'm telling you, something has to be going through it. It was the same thing. I was wild on Arcane, bro. I was like, wow, yo, people, hold on, hold on. I didn't see the last season Arcane. So I only know the first season. So I don't tell me nothing. Don't tell me nothing. That's uh I got you. I know Arcane's hard. So like I was watching season two. I don't know why I couldn't get into it. I just gotta rewatch it. I don't know. I I must have had other shit going on. Like I was watching like Vox Makada back then. Like Vox Machada is one of my favorite. You watch that shit? Yeah. Say that one again. It's called Vox Makana. No, I haven't seen it. It's an anime on Amazon, bro. It's based off of this Dungeons and Dragons group. They like this group on the internet. I didn't even know that. I just watched it because it was like in my wheelhouse. Like I like The Witcher. I like stuff like that. Like, I like that whole which is hard. It's up for this either trash. Bro, I only watched it. I was like, how bad can it be? It was that bad, bro. I don't know what they're gonna do. Maybe just load it up with fighting scenes and leave me the fuck alone, bro. I can't, bro. They really dropped a bag with Henry Caval. The other DC. It's so it's so crazy, like the shit that's going on with these franchises and the business of this comic book stuff. I mean, you heard the whispers about Doom and all that shit, and how they bro. They should have slid the block on Jonathan Majors, bro. I'm sorry. Bro, the way was gonna be so great, man. Bro, that Loki season two. It Loki itself is probably one of the few shows where I was like, holy shit. It was just like Cyberpunk. I was like, this is a lot.
SPEAKER_01Jonathan May was doing so well as Kang, man.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he was incredible. He's incredible. Listen, the shit was mutual. Blame both of them, move on. He didn't get no time for it. It's on record that the other shirty, the girl involved, also did things too. It was mutual, right? So it's like, I don't know. But on a better note, bro, you watch Dr. Stone, right? Oh, yeah. Dr. Stone genuinely makes me feel like, yo, if we go into an apocalypse, that is the tutorial to rebuild society. Bro, I recommend Dr. Stone to anybody with kids, bro. I feel like that. Bro, you ever watch Cells at Work? Cells at Work? No, no, no, no. It's an anime based upon a white blood cell in the body taking care of shit, killing viruses and all shit like that. Like, so basically, they make the white blood, like they give it all a society and culture, your blood cells. This white cell is like living his life murdering viruses and shit, bro. I'm talking about it's yeah, yeah. It's like a serious osmosis jones, bro. But go back to Dr. Stone, bro. It's kind of like the anti-version of what a show it is. It's not muscle your way, it's think your way around. Now, and that's where it goes descended territory where he like he makes these decisions. But like, Dr. Stone is fire, bro. Dude, I love Dr. Stone.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Like, I was thinking, I was like, yo, he's really cooking up chemicals, communication devices, and building everything from ground up. Like, this is wild.
SPEAKER_00Motherfuckers. It's a maximum effectiveness. Like, it's wild. We got Hell's Paradise season two. How are we feeling about that, bro? Bro. First, they ended on a wild cliffhanger. I was not expecting this, man. I was like, yo, really? No closure, this trauma. Like, we really are not gonna know if the homies made it off the island. That's wild. Bruh. I really like Hell's Paradise. I like the power system. I like the combat. The animation's on point. I'm not that far into it. I'm caught up to the anime cannon, but I'm not past it yet. So I'm ready for that.
SPEAKER_01How did you feel about now that season two is over? Like I'd be ready to dive into the manga. Just because it's gotta wow.
SPEAKER_00I gotta know what happens at this point, bro. Season four of no, is it season four or five of Invincible is up. Like the last episode just came out. How are we feeling about this shit? My thing is like I'll be real.
SPEAKER_01I really don't rock with Oliver.
SPEAKER_00Like, I never really rocked with Oliver since the introduction into after his introduction. I was like, alright, I'll give it some time. But doing missions with Mark, I was like, dude, like, why can't you just listen? Like, everyone told you not to piss off Thrag. And what do you go do? Not to fight a one on one. Yeah. Like Broski.
SPEAKER_01Everyone told you stay away from Thrag. And what do you go do? Don't piss me off.
SPEAKER_00One of those moments it was like, bro, don't piss me off. Bro, he's so caught up trying to like prove himself to invincible, trying to prove himself to Nolan. He ain't always gonna make the worst mistakes, bro. But let's just talk about Mark. Like, he was a scrub in season one. Now he just killed Conquest. Oh, he caught the beats. Drag took his chain in his homeworld. He said, hey, we like it here, dog. If you do anything, dog, we're gonna fuck it all up. How about it? Meet me in front of the priest. Now, Drag. He's not even what? Now what? We don't got a planet no more. Fuck it. I don't got a planet, you don't got a planet. Fuck it, bro. How you wanna do it? Call the coalition. We're both homeless. We're both homeless, bro. Everybody did. Alright. Frank's crazy. And you know the crazy thing is, right? When he appears at the end of the episode, I thought Mark was still going through his PTSD. Nah. This is not a dream. I'm on your earth, bro. We chilling. Luke got a job already. Craig is in the gang already. Like, it's so wild, bro.
SPEAKER_01That brother is a pure menace. I'm not gonna lie. He is a menace.
SPEAKER_00Bro, that gravity pull uppercut. And like we thought Nolan was like one of the hardest Viltermites. We thought he was one of the ones. Nolan is the truth. Like, we're thinking Nolan is the truth. And then Thrag pulls up Diamonds Dancing. You don't even know it's levels to this Vilter Might stuff. I choose death.
SPEAKER_01Like, I'm true to this. I'm really true to this.
SPEAKER_00I'm a spare y'all, man. Like, can't kill anybody out, bro. I'm just kill your big homie. Go home. This mobbed, bro, in front of them, bro. Mushta right in front of them, bro. Right in front of people, bro. In front of the whole coalition leaders gone. But it's gonna be exciting. How did you feel about this tech jacket attack or wokeness? I don't even know what it is, bro. I didn't know it was that deep. I know the character, right, originally in the comics was a guy, right? Then everybody was mad online because they gender swapped it. I don't really think it does much to the story, bro. Yeah, again, like it just you know what it reminded me of? It reminded me like when Legend of Korra came out. That was bad. Mind you, the way people was coming at it. Yeah, I'm like, and mind you, I'm watching. I don't think Air, you know. I like the Airbnb. Yeah. Angabin was better, but I respect what Korra's done. I just don't think so. Like when they had that contract, when they was doing Korra, they had one season at a time. They always thought they were gonna get canceled. So they were trying to have something to fulfill the fans. So once they got all the, they're like, yo, you can actually have a four seasons here. It was too late. It was in the third season. I told us it was gonna close every day. So what are we gonna do?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so like I again, I'm with you where I'm just like, okay, cool, you gender swapped. I don't think the story's been compromised at all. But it also reminds me of when Legend of Korra came out.
Invincible Drama And Myth TV Takes
SPEAKER_00Like everyone was so married to Aang that they weren't really open-minded to the whole new generation and avatar being a girl thing. And then we saw kind of like that same issue show up with Boruto. Whereas everyone was so heavy on Naruto and going through the trenches with Naruto, Boruto came out, and everyone's like Boruto's childish and super. The comparison of Naruto is crazy, it's so different, it's so night and day. It's like gonna be like Baruto, like they're not gonna have to deal with much. So then it's gonna be chillin'. That's like money in their accounts. That's not their fault. They were born in my motion. Hey man, Naruto got him an iced out jacket. Bro, like my son, my son Naruto went through the trenches already, so he got his son a roly. Like, bro. Then he's cheating. He's like, yo, you can't do that. People know me. I'm the whole kage. Now you gotta chill on that. I got you. I mean, I got the village. If I was president of the Leaf, I'd get my son a roly too. Bro, but nah, I'm really excited about anime. Like, I hope. Oh man. Blood of Zeus was so fire on Netflix. I wish we get something similar with a different mythology, bro.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, blood of Zeus, that's heat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, bro. Blood of Zeus is crazy.
SPEAKER_01He died.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I I prefer that over Percy Jackson that's out on Disney Plus right now. Hey. I'm sorry. The Percy in the books was catching hats.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. This guy is catching bodies.
SPEAKER_00He's soft. This guy, he's soft. He's soft. He's charming. He's soft, bro. Big Percy in the books would have killed mad people, bro. He's catching hats since 12. I'm talking about like real sword fights. Like, I don't know why. Choreography is like, come on, bro. It's Disney. It's like, it's like they kids bopped it. You know what I mean? Is it for us though, right? Yeah, I guess we're not the target demographic. Bro, but the books themselves is more mature than what he's putting out. That's all I'm saying. Yeah, that is true. And I guess I don't know. I don't even target demographic. I don't know what the target, like, because I I guess at this particular regulation on what they put in the books. Because I guess graphic novels and all that type of stuff was popping back then. Yeah. Bro, I'm just saying when I read Percy Jackson, The Last Olympiad, or even the Battle of the Labyrinth, right? In that book, he's in the lab roof fighting to the death with a bunch of monsters, bro. With him and Annabeth McGrover right there and Nico right there, and people are dying and shit, bro. Like, he went on a suicide mission. Percy Jackson went on a suicide mission and lost his homie. Yeah. Yo, it didn't like whole time he was like, it's up to me now. Like it's really up to me now. Bro, actually was crazy because of Charles. He blew up the ship. I do like certain things they're doing with Luke, but then the kid spop of it is just not for me. But it's all right, bro. Right. You know. Right. I need the trauma to see it. But all right. Yeah, yeah. It's been another episode Life of Times episode five. Anime, me and Carlos every day. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. You know that. Keep cooking.
