Thanks for tapping in to The Life N Times Network !

Boxing in Egypt looked unreal. Pyramids, big fight energy, and a main event that gave us plenty to argue about.

We break down the card, Frank Sanchez stopping Richard Torres, Jack Catterall’s win, Hamzah Shiraz at 168, and the real story of Usyk vs Rico.

Rico did better than expected. Usyk still showed why he’s Usyk.

Scorecards, stoppage, rematch talk. We got into all of it.

Drop your take below: fair stoppage or too early?

The best. The worst. The real talk.

Card Setup And Big Night Vibe

SPEAKER_00

Lane Lane, the fight, episode 93. Let's get into it. We got boxing Usyk versus Rico in Egypt.

Undercard Shock And Team Complacency

SPEAKER_00

Listen, we start the card off Benjamin Mendez, Tani versus Daniel LePen. This is Usik's homeboy. They work in the same gym alongside Anthony Joshua. They're all a part of this Ukrainian crew. He got stopped in round four. And you know what? This card showed me that Usyk and his team, top to bottom, was taking this shit lightly. I don't think Daniel had any options. I don't think he was ready for the intensity. I think these guys thought they were coming in here to just roll over some easy competition, and that the biggest part of the fight was gonna be the spectacle, like being by the pyramids, which was amazing. Just the look of the fight was insane to have people boxing right next to the pyramids. It was an amazing location. I'm so glad and happy to see that. Boxing is really, despite certain aspects of this main card, the spectacle of it was amazing. It was an incredible show. It looked amazing. But Daniel, he got stopped through four by Mendez Tani, TKO, they stopped him. Listen, bro, punches and budges, he couldn't do nothing with them, and he couldn't keep them off of him, and he didn't have any options once he got inside. Once the inside fighter got inside, made it a brawl, made it a fight, instead of a boxing match, it was over. Daniel's a great prospect, but maybe that's his level. And we'll be talking about that and revisiting that as we go up the card.

Mizuki Uses Speed To Cruise

SPEAKER_00

We got Mizuki, the ring champion. She won her fight easily. Unanimous UD. She was way too fast for her opponent. He doesn't have a lot of pop in her shots. But maybe she don't need it, man. She's too fast for these people in her division. Now, we get into the heavyweight division, and listen, man, every prospect got chit-checked.

Frank Sanchez Flattens Richard Torres

SPEAKER_00

Every prospect had to approve if they had the goods to be where they're at. Frank Sanchez knocks out Richard Torres, round two, bro. Same uppercut knockout that Jared Anderson suffered from it as well. Now I'm starting to think that camp, that team, something with top ranked boxers, heavyweight addition in uppercut defense needs to change. This is the second prospect from that camp to get flatlined by a savvy vet. These guys aren't ready. They gotta fight younger guys. They gotta fight younger guys. They're not ready for these step-up fights. They're just getting beat. Maybe they should fight each other, Jerry Anderson versus Torres Jr. to see who should keep their status as an American heavyweight champion, you know, in the lineup to become an American heavyweight champion. It was disappointing to see Richard Torres get knocked out. But Frank Sanchez looked like a grown man in there. Richard Torres looked like a young man, and it showed in the arena. It showed how they boxed, it showed how the clinch. You know, Richard is used to bullying guys there, bro. Frank wasn't moving. He was right there with them. Patient, took his time, and then he took him out. Shout out to Frank Sanchez. He was off. He didn't fight for a while before this fight. Puts himself in the top 10 ranking as far as heavyweights, getting the round 2KO. Shout out to

Catterall Wins But Ceiling Questions

SPEAKER_00

him. Then we get Jack Catarall beating Takram. That was an easy UD. He beat him, pillared the post, dropped him multiple times, outboxed him. He had a couple spots where he was hurt, but Jack's ready. I don't think he's at the world level. I think anybody that's talented, I think Keyshaw Davis can beat him. I think Devin Haney can beat him. I think Shakura can beat him. I think a lot of guys can beat these UK champions. Him and Crocker, I think they're very beatable champs. I think they all will have tough times with Rolly Romero. And that's all I'm going to say. Congratulations, but I don't think he's at the level at which he's going to keep that belt for long.

Hamzah Shiraz Mismatch And Next Targets

SPEAKER_00

Now, Hamzai Shiraz versus Alim Ijak. Listen, man, it was an easy fight for Hamzai. It was easy belt for him. They're trying to set him up for the Canelo fight or the Mbilly fight. You know, 168 is fire, it's hot, but as far as the matchmaking, that guy was not supposed to be in the rink with a guy like Hamzai. Hamzai is just too good. He walked him down, beat his ass, and then knocked him out round three. Took his time. Now, main event top, Usyk versus Rico.

Usyk Vs Rico Round By Round Take

SPEAKER_00

Rico is a champion in kickboxing. Usyk is a champion in boxing, both lauded as the vest at their sport. Now, Rico did better than anyone could predict it. He was up on the cards on my side before he got stopped in the 11th. Now he got dropped twice in the 11th round. And the ref stopped it after the second time he got dropped. Listen, man, Usik's a GOAT, so we're gonna let it slide. Yeah. He stole that shit. Alright? Look, all the greats still some. All the greats robbed somebody. Go through the history of great fighters. They robbed somebody, they gave him a rematch. I don't think Usik did a sit-up. I don't think Usyk got on the bike. I don't think Usyk was giving this guy any credence, and he still dropped him in the 11th. And guys, I know you feel upset, but he would have finished Rico in the 12th. That's Usyk. Cut it out.

Robbery Talk Training Camp And Rematch

SPEAKER_00

Did Usik rob him? Yeah. He robbed him. Happens. Walk on the boxing, dog. Get robbed or you're nailed in. Everybody get robbed, bro. You be alright. That's why I would tell people nowadays. This is boxing. It's rigged, bruh. Sometimes it gets rigged, bro. That's why I bet for it to get rigged, bro. I bet for the late TKO about Usyk, bro. I just bet that way because I just know. Like if you know boxing, you know the history. They weren't gonna let him lose, even if he lost. The cars had it even. The judges had it even before the knockdown. He would have won anyway. He got the knockdown. You know, do I think a fully focused Usyk? You know, Usyk started talking about his family. Usik said he was distracted. Listen, Usik's a GOAT. He can do what the fuck he wants, bro. He did look a little older there. But I also saw him flat-footed. This is the most flat-footed I ever seen Usyk in my life. I don't think he wanted. I don't think he came in there with his boxing shoes on. He thought the kickboxer was gonna be there to just fight, and he was there to box. Rico has very, very good fundamentals in boxing, in training. You know, kickboxing's not like MMA, where you're worried about a lot of different factors. It's hands and feet. So I know that he's a good boxer, probably the best boxer that Usik has fought. That was his weight and speed and skill. The skill of Rico is a different aspect. That's why he couldn't go out there and just knock him out. Rico was throwing things that made him be respected. Rico's jab was much better than I thought it was gonna be. But I also think Usik was also bullshit this training camp. I think he's gonna get fired up for the next one. I think he beats him a lot faster in the next one, and I think he'll take it a lot more serious as far as this next fight and how he approaches the fight. But let's not forget, Rico took a lot of damage. There was not on the side of his head, and he got dropped twice. So we gotta see what the doc says after that. But that was an amazing card. I still think that's some boxing robbery shit, but like Usyk was gonna win either or, bro. He's gonna knock him out or he's gonna win the cards. It does not matter. They'll fight again. Usyk knocks him out. And then what is Usik gonna do? Retire after that? I mean, if y'all want to fight episode 93. Stap it in. Shout out to the fighter, shout out to Boxing, shout out to Usyk. You gotta rob somebody where you're great. This is your first robbery as a great man. Let's give him a rematch. It's Laina Le.
