It's Late in PA episode 100. Keep it a hun. Episode 100 of the fight. Listen, this podcast started me and my friend Nima. Shout out to Nima who helped me start the fight podcast. I've been carrying it since I got it to PA. Um, we've been viral. We've talked to fighters, we've had conversations and direct moments in the fight game since we started the fight podcast. Just want to thank everyone for tapping in. This is one of the biggest and largest draws to the podcast right now, just because I can do this every week, and I don't need anybody else in the room far as like production, editing, or even the topics itself. You know, I'm a big combat sports fan and I love doing this pod. Just wanted to shout out everybody who's tapping in because we're at episode 100. I'll see y'all at a thousand. Let's get into it.

Hackett Vs Sergei Becomes A War

it. The main card, Jalil, Hackett versus Sergei. This was a brawl. This was battle. This was a war. It was so crazy to see a 40-year-old fighter just refuse to give the young guy an easy win or give himself an easy out. Sergei at 40 years old is a top fighter still. He gave Jalil everything he could handle. Obviously, he didn't hurt him as much as Jalil hurt him. But the thing is, a guy like Jalil gets people out if they're not good enough. He's good enough. At 40 years old, he's he's good enough to be in there for the full duration. 10 rounds of brutal action. He had two cuts, his eye was swollen. Shout out to Sergei for stepping in there with Jalil. It was a 17-year age gap. The scoring was correct. The odds were crazy. And to see Sergei make it to the last bell is a symbolic and moral victory that he should take home to himself at 40 years old. You can hang with the top guys. Even before the fight, he he said that Jalil is at his level. So he didn't look down on himself. You know, Jalil's a high-level up-and-comer.

Richardson’s Jab And Ring Control Lesson

Now, speaking of high level, speaking of up-and-comer, we have to talk about Richard Hitchison, but let's remember Jalil Hackett did beat Sergei UD. Now, Richardson, he fights Ricardo Salas. It was Kikor, Richard, Devin Haney. You need a jab qualification before you can even fight these guys. If your jab isn't at a certain level, you shouldn't even get in the ring with these guys. If you can't control distance, if you can't cut off the ring, and people are talking about, oh, this guy cut off the ring, he has some moments. It is fighting. Every time they step in there, everybody's gonna have a fucking moment. Ricor had that guy, Patty, that he fought, and that guy had small moments. Everybody has small moments in a fight. It's what you do during and how the fight is after. And who fucking wins? Richardson got an easy UD. Ricardo cannot cut off the ring. And if you guys can't cut off the ring, it's nothing, it's nothing you can do with a fighter like that. The pre-qualification to beat Richardson is to be able to cut off the ring and to have a powerful control of the ring in a jab. Like if you cannot jab with him, you should not get in the ring with him. I don't think people understand how high-level he is. Far as his jab, far as his amateur pedigree. Him and Tiger Johnson are very similar, but I do think he's bigger physically. Shout out to Richardson. Showcase exactly why he got the Zufa dill, exactly why he's one of the big names in boxing. He called out Devin Haney, don't like that fight for him. He called out Tank, I don't like that fight for him. But he has the balls to even call these people out. He's a young man in his prime. I wish him the best. Shout out to him just for making that move over to Zufa, giving people more than one look. The fight happened in. Listen, man, it's been an amazing time as far as these fights, as far as these fighters. This is the greatest time in boxing. I would say not in history, just the times we're in. Shout out to all the boxers. Now we get into the main card, the main event.

Edgar’s Roller Coaster Knockout Win

Edgar is coming off of two losses, Canelo, then Jamaz. It was crazy to see the back and forth roller coaster that this fight was for as long as it lasted. I knew it was gonna end in a knockout because the problem with Edgar is that he's too entertaining. He's too violent. He's too ready to risk it for the biscuit. He still hasn't learned all his lessons. He got dropped in round two, okay? And he finished his opponent in round seven. But he should not be taking damage like that at his level. I still think he's a beatable guy, but until he gets beat again, he's gonna be a fun fighter to watch. It was an amazing card. Edgar has a lot of heart, a lot of courage. He is a warrior in there. I just don't like to think about how that shit adds up over the years of being a warrior, being a guy that gets up, gets up, gets up, gets up. Boxing is a brutal sport.
